Our SPLENDOR X device allows for customisable laser hair removal and skin treatments across various skin tones, including dark or tanned skin. Suitable for both men and women, it effectively treats a wide range of hair removal needs.
Not only does this deliver safe and pain-free results, but one of the most effective treatments available anywhere.
How does it work?
Our medical-grade laser is designed to safely emit a controlled pulse of light energy into the skin. This energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, causing it to damage the follicle, thereby inhibiting future hair growth.
We also use an innovative combination of two wavelengths at once to effectively target a wide range of skin tones and hair colours - the first hybrid laser system of its kind.

All of our laser operators are highly-trained and experienced in providing safe and comfortable laser hair removal. Our system provides state-of-the-art pain prevention with Cryo-Touch and Cryo-Air, delivering cold air precisely over the laser treatment area to remove heat from target tissues whilst soothing the skin.
We also hold detailed records on file for every client, and every treatment, so you can rest assured your treatments will be accurate and consistent.
All laser operators undergo formal device training, competency sign-off, and ongoing performance review. The clinic maintains documented laser safety protocols, eye protection procedures, patch testing standards, and equipment servicing records.
Infection control systems include single-use consumables where appropriate, instrument sterilisation protocols, sharps management procedures, and documented cleaning schedules.

What to expect from a laser hair removal treatment at UP®.
All new treatments begin with a comprehensive consultation with one of our Registered New Zealand Beauty Therapists. They will undertake a detailed analysis of your skin and the treatment area; discuss with you any medical conditions or history which may be relevant to your treatment; and run through exactly what to expect before and after your treatment.
We will then prepare a bespoke treatment plan just for you, complete with any before and after treatment care plans, to ensure you get the most out of our laser treatment.
Prior to your treatment.
Avoid any other form of hair removal (waxing, plucking, threading, epilating or similar) approximately 4 weeks prior to your appointment. This will enable the laser to effectively target the hair follicle in the treatment area.
Avoid excessive exposure to sun in the 2-4 weeks prior to your treatment. We may be unable to treat you if the relevant area is sunburnt, inflamed or aggravated.
We recommend you shave the area to be treated approximately 24 hours before your appointment. We may also be unable to treat you if the relevant area is unshaved, so please follow the guidance of your Beauty Therapist.
On the day of your treatment.
Please avoid all topical creams, lotions, spray tans, bronzers and other skin additives in the treated area, on the day of your treatment as this may affect the operation of the laser.
Our treatments begin with a brief check-in with your Beauty Therapist to see if anything has changed since your last appointment, or if it is your first treatment, if anything has changed since your initial consultation.
Once completed, your Beauty Therapist will give you private time to change and get comfortable before your treatment begins.
Our treatment then commences with your Beauty Therapist passing the laser device across the treatment area whilst our Cryo-Air system delivers a jet of cold air over the skin to ensure you stay cool and comfortable.
Each laser pulse is complete in a matter of milliseconds, and most treatments are completed within 5-10 minutes.
After your treatment.
Your Beauty Therapist will apply a soothing aftercare gel to calm the skin, if required. For the following 24 hours we recommend avoiding any heat inducing activities (for example, strenuous exercise, hot baths, saunas, steam rooms, hot yoga), as well as avoiding direct sun exposure.
Your hair will continue to grow normally for up to 2 weeks post treatment. You are welcome to shave during this period, but as before, we recommend avoiding any other form of hair removal.
Most clients find that approximately 2 weeks after treatment hair will begin to fall out from the follicle. You can expedite this process with regular exfoliation.
For the best results we recommend a course of 12 treatments (included in most of our Unlimited laser packages!). Your Beauty Therapist will provide full details about the number of treatments and their frequency in your bespoke treatment plan.

Why do you offer 12-month Unlimited laser packages?
Because laser works best when it’s done properly — and consistently.
Hair grows in cycles. Only a portion of it is active at any one time. If treatments are spaced too far apart, stopped too early, or approached casually, progress slows and timelines stretch out.
Our Unlimited packages are designed to:
• Maintain momentum through the full hair growth cycle
• Allow you to attend at intervals appropriate for your body, without penalty
• Adjust timing if your response is faster or slower
• Complete a focused treatment phase confidently
• Make treatment financially predictable and easy to manage over the course of the treatment term
The goal isn’t endless appointments. It’s strong, visible reduction within a structured term — and then simple maintenance from there.
I’ve had laser before and it didn’t work. Why would this be different?
